Living Water Projects
East Samar – Calvary Creekside, Living Water Projects, and Giving Children Hope is currently raising funds to take additional Life Straw community filters to the Philippines. Our goal is to provide 120 units for the school and university system in Tacloban and north to Hernani. 120 units of the Life Straw community would provide clean water for approximately 8500 students yielding approximately 3,000,000 gallons of pure safe drinking water. The cost of each unit is $400 US dollars. If you would like to be a part of this effort you can donate by clicking the graphic above and mark your donation for the Life Straw schools project. Thanks for loving the people of the Philippines.
In November 2013, Calvary Creekside sent 7 people to bring water filtration and support to the people affected by Typhoon Yolanda. Information on that trip can be found here.
Hernani – Below one of the LIfe Straw community units is installed at a feeding line in Hernani elementary school run by Calvary Chapel. Once the community understood that the big blue container was safe water it needed to refilled 5-6 times a day! We were pretty excited about that.
Hernani – Calvary Creekside also brought 107 Life Straw family 1.0 units. Each one of these compact units provide water filtration for approximately three years for a family of four. We had the distinct privilege of going “door to door” (which really is “tent to tent” since the typhoon) and educating families on how to install and use the filters. It was a sweet time of ministry bringing practical support for their lives and being able to pray with and encourage the families in the love of Jesus – the Living Water. Each Life Straw family unit was field tested to ensure correct flow rates and not deplete the water supply of the recipient families.
Please considering donating to help support ongoing efforts in the Philippines. We are raising support to send more supplies and plan future relief trips back to the Philippines.
